By the time I was 8 years old, my crayon drawings of flowers & rainbows
had graduated into fully conceptualized renderings of
interior design projects - one for each of the rooms I intended to
redesign in my family members' homes - nevermind their approval.
So, on my 10th birthday, my mother gifted unto me a magazine subscription
that would set my life's destiny into motion...
Architectural Digest
Seemed befitting for a young girl being raised in the magic city of
Birmingham, Alabama. Soaking in all the glory of the wonderous Art Deco, Neoclassical, Greek Revival, Craftsman, and Tudor-style buildings.
Not to mention... the never-ending eye candy of perfectly manicured lawns,
prize-winning gardens, and novel-worthy wraparound porches.
And, if that wasn't enough to sway my future...
Both my father and my great-grandmother worked in two of the
most iconic buildings in downtown Birmingham until they retired...
Liberty National and Pizitz
Fragrance Industrialists pays homage to the industrial city I love.
The wealth of unique cultural diversity found in the cuisine, customs,
and community that makes Birmingham so special.
And the family members & friends who have supported
my entrepreneurial spirit and my obsessions with industry,
architecture, and interior design.
